Medical Legal Partnership (Coconino County)

A cooperative project between North Country HealthCare and DNA-People’s Legal Services

Sometimes legal problems can affect your wellbeing. Whether it’s a stressful divorce, housing conditions that endanger your health or an abusive partner or loved one you need to be away from, the North Country Medical Legal Partnership may be able to help. Talk to your healthcare provider if you would like to meet with someone to discuss your legal concerns. A representative from the Medical Legal Partnership will determine if you are eligible for our free services.

The specially trained staff do not represent clients in criminal matters or in cases against North Country HealthCare; however, we may be able to represent clients in the following areas:


  • Medicaid, Medicare, food stamps, TANF, WIC, general assistance, medical insurance, unemployment benefits, Social Security, SSI/ SSDI


  • Eviction, housing conditions, other housing issues


  • Violence (physical or emotional), legal separation, divorce, child custody

Child’s school

  • Special-education needs, healthcare needs at school, other concerns with education

Making decisions for loved ones

  • Child or adult guardianship, other decision-making issues

Planning for the future

  • Living wills, advanced medical directives

Other legal issues
