Video: Creating Healthier Communities

NACASA Celebrates a Decade of Providing Care after Assault

In 2016, 139 victims of sexual assault and domestic violence received forensic exams from Northern Arizona Care and Services After Assault (NACASA) at North Country HealthCare. NACASA has been providing care for assault victims at North Country HealthCare for the last ten years, and each year the number of exams performed increases. Marketplace Plans Likely to Remain Affordable for Most

Since the Health Insurance Marketplace unveiled its new 2017 insurance plans on Monday, media outlets across the country have been reporting about steep rate increases. According to a report from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), rates will increase by an average of 25% across the U.S. Although Marketplace insurance rates are going up in 2017, nearly nine out of ten northern Arizonans will qualify for financial help in the form of tax credits and cost sharing reductions, effectively cushioning these consumers from such rate hikes. Every year on October 24th, Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Day is celebrated in an effort to increase public awareness of the progress, promise and benefits of acupuncture and Oriental medicine. According to the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine, about 36% of adults in the U.S. use some form of complementary and alternative medicine.
