Preceptors help to mentor, guide, and empower northern Arizona’s future health professionals in all disciplines. This year’s Preceptors of the Year were selected from the pool of clinicians in medical, pharmacy, and dental who participated in teaching students and residents from July 2022 through June 2023. Get ready for flu season Flu season is here! Are you ready? The single best way to protect yourself is by getting an annual flu shot. Flu vaccines are recommended to most people 6 months of age and older, including those who are pregnant or breastfeeding. Getting vaccinated helps in two ways. A 2019 study found migraines to be the leading cause of disability among women under 50. The Global Burden of Disease study identified headache disorders as a leading public health concern in most countries. In 2019, the study ranked migraines as the second leading cause of disability among all adults, and first among women under 50.
