At EXCEL, Carrie was the lead mental health counselor and team coordinator in the Quartzsite office. She provided in office, in home, and in school mental health services for adults and children in La Paz County. After completion of her contract with the National Health Service Corps, she and 2 other mental health therapists started their own private practice in 2005 called La Paz Counseling. At La Paz Counseling Carrie held the title of therapist and clinical director. As a mental health counselor in private practice, she provided mental health and substance abuse counseling to adults and children. She also led psychoeducation and psychotherapy groups including Parenting, Court Ordered DUI, Anger Management, Substance Abuse, and Domestic Violent Offender Treatment groups. Carrie also created the first Domestic Violence Offender Treatment program in La Paz County as well as participated in the creation of Drug Court and Veteran’s Court in La Paz County. As the clinical director, Carrie supervised master level interns, behavioral health technicians and coordinated care with other health care agencies. Carrie is looking forward to this next chapter in her career in continuing to provide high quality mental health care and advocacy in Lake Havasu City. In her free time, Carrie enjoys watching her kids play sports and do all of their activities. She also likes the outdoors, hiking, enjoying the lake, and jigsaw and online puzzles.
