North Country HealthCare’s Flagstaff location offers prenatal care, the healthcare you receive while you are pregnant. Our goal is to create healthier communities, one family at a time. We help our patients take are of themselves and their babies with early and regular prenatal care. We encourage you to schedule an appointment as soon as you know you’re pregnant.
Our efforts begin by providing preconception (before pregnancy) care. Pre-pregnancy consultations allow you to address concerns and health issues with a medical provider to ensure you are in the best possible health prior to becoming pregnant. Preconception care includes routine well woman exams; family planning/birth control; diet and exercise counseling; and maintenance of chronic gynecological conditions.
Care is provided by board certified obstetrician/gynecologists and certified nurse midwives. The providers in our office function as a team, with an emphasis on working with our patients to make the best medical decisions for each individual. We have found this approach is beneficial to both the patient and the providers. North Country currently has privileges at Flagstaff Medical Center. We do not have a birth center and we do not do home births.
Each of our providers develop an individualized prenatal care for each patient. Our providers practice evidence-based medicine and request your prenatal care plan include routine prenatal visits, labs, ultrasounds and a postpartum visit. It may also include specific tests and ultrasounds and referrals to specialized providers. We also encourage our prenatal patients to receive proper dental care. As part of your prenatal care, you will have the opportunity to participate in optional programs both on and off site.
