April Alvarez-Corona, MD, is a board-certified pediatrician with a special interest in adolescent care and nutrition. She is committed to providing equal access to care for all patients. She believes in the power of patient education to teach families the importance of living a healthy lifestyle now that will have a positive impact for the future.

Dr. Alvarez-Corona joined North Country HealthCare in August 2015. As a member of North Country’s extraordinary team of physicians and providers, she serves as Pediatrician and Deputy Chief Medical Officer. Currently, Dr. Alvarez-Corona is involved in the further development of team-based programs and projects.

Prior to joining North Country HealthCare, Dr. Alvarez-Corona worked at the Chiricahua Community Centers in Bisbee, Ariz. In addition to working as a pediatrician, she also worked to develop pediatric programs and conducted research on obesity prevention and family coaching.
