North Country offers Centering Pregnancy
In August a new option will become available at North Country HealthCare for pregnant women. They will have the opportunity to receive their prenatal care in groups of eight to 12 women with similar due dates. The program is called Centering Pregnancy and it was developed by a nurse midwife from Yale University -- Sharon Schindler Rising, CNM, MSN.
Women in the Centering Pregnancy program at sites all over the country have found incredible satisfaction from sharing their experience with the group. Their prenatal care providers have found satisfaction as well by getting to know the patients in ways they can't within the limitations of traditional care. At North Country HealthCare, a pregnant woman will still be able to choose the traditional way of seeing her provider for 15-minute visits in the exam room...
