Drums and whistles announced their arrival downtown amid chants of "Join together. Free our lives. We will not be victimized."
Many carried signs.
"Equality."
"Love gives us a voice."
"The night is mine."
"Not silent, not scared."
More than 120 people gathered in Heritage Square on Wednesday night to "Take Back the Night," an annual effort to bring awareness to the plight of victims of sexual assault.
