Child obesity epidemic calls for all-out effort

Thanks to the Daily Sun for writing several stories on childhood obesity in Sunday's paper. I appreciated the reporting on efforts being made by our local providers and hospital to address this important issue. In fact, it's not too big a leap to call this problem an epidemic as obesity rates among children 6 to 11 years have doubled since the 1970s and more than tripled among 12- to 19- year-olds.
